In the third quarter of 2024, the top navigation and maps apps on iOS in Africa showcased varied performance trends. According to Sensor Tower data, Google Maps maintained its strong position with weekly downloads fluctuating between 60K and 74K. The app's active users remained consistently high, peaking at approximately 2.87M in early August before slightly tapering off to 2.78M by the end of September.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw a steady pattern in downloads, ranging from around 8.2K to 10K weekly. The active user base demonstrated a similar trend, reaching a high of about 287K mid-quarter, with a gradual decline towards 268K by the quarter's close.

Google Earth experienced a modest but consistent download rate, averaging about 6.8K weekly. Active users showed a mild increase, peaking at 38.3K in mid-September, though it tapered to 32.4K by the end of the quarter.

Radarbot: Speed Cameras | GPS from Iteration Mobile S.L. had a noticeable presence, with revenue peaking at $2.2K in late July. Weekly downloads, however, saw a downward trend from 6.4K to 3K over the quarter, while active users decreased from 15.4K to 10.9K.

Lastly, GPS Camera with Time Stamp reported a notable increase in weekly downloads, peaking at 3.8K in late July. Active users also increased significantly, reaching 7.6K in early September before settling at 6.6K by the end of the period.
